Pastoral Care Nepean Hospital

Time in hospital can be uncertain, lonely and even scary. Our chaplains are here for you and your loved ones during this time.

Our friendly team is made up of full-time and part-time chaplains representing different faith traditions. If you would like to speak with a chaplain, please ask your nurse to contact our department or leave a request in the box outside our department door.

If you would like to see a chaplain of another denomination of faith, or a chaplain who speaks a community language, please ask the Pastoral care staff and our team will do our best to organise it.

Chaplains provide spiritual and emotional support. A patient, carer or staff member could be offered a Chaplain's visit when he or she: is apprehensive about impending surgery, has received bad news about their illness, is discouraged, depressed, lonely or just needs someone to talk to.

The Pastoral Care Department provides pastoral care services to all the hospitals within the NBMLHD. While based at Nepean Hospital Chaplains travel regularly to Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Springwood Hospitals. Chaplains are assisted by accredited Pastoral Care Volunteers in each hospital.
