Take a break and be together as a family at the Ronald McDonald Family Room at John Hunter Children’s Hospital. Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is a refuge for you and your family while visiting or staying with a child in hospital.

Step away from the ward and into our inviting Family Room where there’s a lounge area, nap room and kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities as well as space for the kids to play.

Our Ronald McDonald Family Room is run by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, all under the leadership of Family Room Coordinator.

Eligibility - We want to make sure families have a home-away-from-home inside Hospital. That’s why our Family Room is free and open to the families of children receiving treatment in wards J1, J2, H1, NICU, PICU, Nexus and Paediatric Outpatient Clinics.

Fees - Ronald McDonald Family Rooms are free of charge. Thanks to generous donations from the community, families have a space away from the wards to recoup and simply be together.
