Bathurst Base Hospital

Bathurst Health Service is a Level C referral facility within the Western NSW Local Health District. The hospital provides a number of acute specialities and has active Hospital in the Home and primary Community Health Services which include the surrounding townships of Blayney, Oberon, Perthville, Hill End, Sofala and Rylstone.

Bathurst is located approximately 200 kilometres west-northwest of Sydney with a population of 42,000. It is well known for the Bathurst 1000 touring car race held annually at Mount Panorama.  The city offers many café’s, hotels, motels and boutique shopping experiences along with tourist attractions including the National Motor Racing Museum, Australian Fossil & Mineral Museum and Bathurst Regional Art Gallery.

Bathurst Health Service is a level C1 facility which functions as a Base Hospital within a large and growing regional centre. Shortly after the founding of Bathurst in 1815 the first hospital was built and established in 1824. It has since grown considerably into a 101 bed acute Rural Hospital located on the eastern border of the Western NSW local Health district.
