Hunter Region Botanical Gardens

The award-winning Hunter Region Botanic Gardens are managed and maintained by volunteers for the enjoyment and education of the people of the Hunter region and visitors from Australia and overseas. Our beautiful gardens cater for everyone from serious horticultural enthusiasts to students undertaking educational school trips and families wanting to enjoy a day outdoors.

The Gardens is an accessible venue for people with a disability. Vehicular access and parking for disabled drivers and vehicles with disabled passengers are available. A brick paved pathway suitable for wheelchair access follows the major route through the Gardens and provides access to the majority of theme gardens. A wheelchair can also be borrowed from the Visitor Centre.

The Visitors Centre and Kookaburra Cafe are both accessible to people with disabilities, and disabled toilets are provided. The Cafe is open daily 9am - 3pm.
