Newlands Park is nestled in a lush landscaping suburb of Land Cove and the hustle and bustle of St Leonards. Only a short walk from St Leonards train station, the park is located at the corner of Canberra Ave and Duntroon Avenue.

It was named after a local residents in the 1920s who was also the local Councillor. Mr. Newlands donated funds to the establishment of the park by North Sydney and Lane Cove councils.

With lots of trees and plants, the park is quite shady on a sunny day. Stroll down the park and you will find a small children's playground further down from the entrance. Wooden perimeter fencing has been installed along the edges of the park for safety purposes.

There is plenty of land for active kids to run around and play games. The playground has two play areas, one for toddlers and the other for older children. There is quite a few play equipments suitable for both smaller kids and older children. Most of the play area is shaded with shade sail to protect children from too much exposure to the sun. A bike track is also available around toddler play equipment area. It is a great venue and attractive feature for little kids or beginners to ride their bikes.
