SVH Social Work Service

Social Work is an important part of patient services at St Vincent’s Hospital. Social workers are available to assist patients and their families and carers with personal and practical difficulties. Social workers are professionally trained and offer a cost-free comprehensive service by providing professional counselling, information and links with appropriate resources.

Anyone who is an inpatient, a registered outpatient or a family member / carer. The Social Work Department has a commitment to providing total care to patients, families, carers and significant others. There is a social worker allocated to each clinical area within the hospital. If you’d like to see a social worker, please ask the nursing staff or your doctor to contact the Social Work Department.
