Volunteer services at POWH

Prince of Wales Hospital Volunteer Guides help people to find their way around the hospital. They can be found at the Information counters at the High and Barker St entrances.

•A laundry service for patients from the country or for people who are homeless with no community support. You can access this service by speaking to the Nursing Unit Manager of your ward.

•A wig library that sells wigs and hair care products at cost. Styling and hair cutting services are also available for people living with cancer and undergoing treatment. This is located at The Bright Building and is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.00am to 2.00pm. For enquiries, please contact Gail Avis on 9382 5094.

•A mobile library offering books to patients on the wards.

•A mobile trolley service that sells newspapers, magazines, toiletries and snacks on the wards

•A mobile trolley service at the main entrance on High St selling newspapers and magazines.

•A group who visit patients on the wards, listen to their concerns and provide hand massages

•Gardening services for patient gardens on the campus

•Administrative support for different ward areas.
